More PSAs

Use the following PSAs as examples for your own PSA.  Notice how persuasive elements (ethos, pathos, logos) and film elements work together to communicate a focused message.

Also, feel free to comment on persuasive elements and film elements in the PSAs below.  Describe and analyze in your posts.  Respond to one another.  Remember, be professional and precise/accurate in your comments!

  1. I like how the topic was specific about how the parents should teach their kids about tolerance and what the examples of what they shouldn't say about the topic.

  2. These PSAs were very strong and had a clear message. It is evident that although the problem was stated, there was also a call to action and that is important in resolving conflicts. I learned that you can't just state what the problem is , you have to show why your willing to take a stand on the topic , why its important and how it can be prevented or stopped.

    1. Reyna- Nice response! I agree that we need to make sure each of our PSAs have a clear 'call to action' to make this project work.

  3. The first PSA was very specific and showed a real life scenario. It had a very strong message and a solution. The solution wasn't as strong as the message and could have been expressed better so that the viewer is clear about the problem and how to solve it. Overall, both PSA's had a very interesting, everyday life topic.

  4. Both of these PSA's were very, clear and strong. They both describe important topics that affect the community and the people around you. The second PSA's , I thought was really important because we as children (especially small children) look up to our parents as an example. Younger children usually want to be like their parents, resulting in the kids copying what their parents say and what they do even if it means doing things that affect and harm the well being of others.

    1. I agree. A parent is a children's first role model. A parent is someone a child will look up to for the rest of their lives. What you say and do in front of your child is what she/he will do. These actions will then affect the future of that child. The message in this PSA is clear; teach your children tolerance instead of racism; teach your child good instead of bad, etc. Nice response Dhilexa :D

  6. Both PSA's were very strong. Its shows how they both state the problem in a specific and clear way. The topics talked about in these PSA's are similar in a way that they both affect the people around us and that they can result to negative comments and actions that can affect the people emotionally and psychically.

  10. The second PSA grabbed my attention the most, I believe it have a good example on how bullying can happen right infront of your eyes. That PSA made me think about times where i have seen something but not stood up for someone; it gives a straight message on how we should help the people around us from anything we wouldn't like to happen to us.

  11. This psa caught my attention because bullying is a big contraversial today in US because this can take place in two forms : up close and personal or through the internet. Some people actually commit suicide because of other peoples actions when a certain line is ccrossed. I think the actors of the psa did a really good job with expressions and dialogue on how a situation would turn out to be. - Ivan

  14. This PSA exceeds in the focus category and it has a clear message. This PSA' message adequately responds to the prompt and the ideas support the message. It should be more clear when it talks about the internet.
